- Identity: The theme of identity explores how people-Indigenous and non-Indigenous- think about and define themselves.
- Connections to Mother Earth: This theme explores each person’s relationship with Mother Earth, the source of all life.
- Relationships: Through the theme of relationships readers explore the importance of each person’s connection to other people, as well as to all creatures on Mother Earth.
